Digital picture frame

We have started our project here in Berlin. I have been paired with a student from China who has been studying in Germany for a semester. The project is to re-design a frame for a digital photo display. The exercise is being judged by Philips corperation in Tokyo, and the three best entries will recieve their own digital picture frames. It's a nice idea, but I'm not sure how exactly it will work. It seems that Philips want to launch a "new" product without actually changing any of the technology tht was in the old product. I guess it makes it a little easier for us as designers though, because we only have to focus on function and aesthetics, not technologies.
Today I presented my slideshow about the Australian design corperation, Decor. The presentation seemed to go well, but I'm not sure how informative I was as a speaker. The German students seemed to appreciate all the designers that we highlighted during the afternoon, and tonight have planned a special party for us. I hope it all goes well.
I was a little worried about what I was going to eat while I was here in Berlin, because I didnt think many of the meals were included in the cost of the trip. But it turns out that I worried for nothing, breakfasts in Berlin are all paid for, and lunch is pretty cheap at the university cafe. Dinners, we have been trying out local places around our hostel. We have discovered some cheap Thai places, as well as a cheap Indian place. The food is great! I'm just hoping that I dont put on too much weight while I am over here, because it seems that I'm eating like a horse!
Anyways, lots of love, -Andrew
