Last night I went to comedy festival with rovers, we saw DaveO'Neil. (thats the one from Nova 100).. He was very funny. Afterwards we went to a couple of bars in the city, and saw some other comedians. The night was fun, but turned out to be very late!

I went to my first ever football match today! I saw the Western Bulldogs play against the Richmond Tigers. It was a really close game, and although it was rainy outside, you would never have guessed with the roof closed! Anyways it was alot of fun, and I can now call myself Aussie, cause I have been to the footy hehe.  

Look what I found when I was re-arranging my room! Its one of them little plasma balls! hehe I remember buying it, but I lost it... turns out that it had fallen down behind one of my speakers... its all good now, I just have to find a home for it now! :) 

Hmm... the one on the left is an iPod in disguise??? LOL 

Just a quick post to let you know what I did over the weekend... One major event is that my good friend Babs turned 18! She had a very nice party at her place on saturday night and I managed to sneak in one photo, hopefully she has a better one she can e-mail me (hint hint) Anyways, a fun time was had by all... Sunday I went with Mum's pen-friend's daughter to healseville sanctuary and got attacked by an emu hehe... it was pretty funny. The Emu started doing its mating dance around Peter (my brother), and then I started laughing and so it moved over to me and kinda pushed me out of the way, he was being quite defensive.. lol.. it was lots of fun.  

While the family were in Warrnumbul (I think thats how you spell it), we went to Flagstaff Hill, which is a small historic village. They had a museum there documenting the history of the shipwreck coast. This is a ceramic peacock that stands taller than me... It would have been about 2m tall! It was recovered from one of the shipwrecks, and hauled up a cliff by a farmer! The only part of it that was damaged while the ship was being beaten on the rocky coastline was a tiny fracture in the beak.

Swimming in Tidal River. 

Tidal River. The tide is currently out, but the beach was still lovely... I was surprised at how little sea-weed was on the beach. 

Squeeky Beach. This particular area is set aside for conservation. 

OMG has it really been over a month since I last posted?! It seems like only yesterday we were pushing cars around the bush! Since my last post, we had our 'family holiday' at Venus Bay. I had work and other commitments, so I could only come down for a few days at a time. That didnt stop me from making the most of my time... I decided that we should really visit Wilson's Prom while we were down there, so we all piled into the car and drove to Wilsons Prom for a picnic. After eating, we went swimming at Tidal River, and on the way home stopped for a look at Squeeky Beach. The sand at Squeeky Beach is soo fine that it actually squeeks when you walk on it. Quite amazing really... hehe
The second time I went down to Venus Bay, we just went to the beach that was there... It has such a fancy name too, "Venus Bay Beach 1". Maybe they were feeling very un-inspired when they discovered Venus Bay. I had a swim in the water and rode the waves on my body board. It was all very tireing though, so I went back to the shore and lay down in the sun.... **FATAL MISTAKE** I fell asleep in the sun and managed to burn my legs and all up my back. I was in bed for the next couple weeks, and Mum bought all the creams and sprays on the market for sunburns.
I also got a sore throught at the same time, so I visited the doctor. She seemed to think that I could have Glandular Fever, and she sentanced me to bed rest... at least until my blood test came back. When the test came back, it seems that I dont have Glandular Fever, but I am slightly low on iron. Interesting, because our family eats more red meat than anyone else I know! So now I am all better, taking some iron suppliments and trying to eat more iron. Maybe thats why I was tired???
Anyways, I'm sure that everyone dosent want to hear about my health problems... something more exciting is that I finally took the plunge and bought all the stuff I need to wirelessly network the house! (how exciting!!) After about a week of setting up, it finally works... and along the way I learned how to make cat5 data cable... (I should say, I learned how to "crimp" the ends) and I learned a thing or two about how to configure IP addresses to work together... even if that was with the help of the lady from netgear.
I hope everyone has a fantastic Valentines Day, and that your special someone knows you care.

A couple days ago, I went camping with a couple friends from school. We all went up to Bunyip state park, (that's just past Gembrook) and stayed the night. Plan A was to stay for 3 nights, but not alot of people could make it if we stayed that long, so we ended up staying just the one night. It was alot of fun, and it was good to get into the outdoors with friends.
Our little sleepover ended up being more adventurous than I anticipated. Chris had planned to come up later because he was in the city with friends. He was the only one coming up by himself. Somehow he took a wrong turn and ended up on one of the tracks that had big speed hump things across it. I think they are to help the water drain away, but they were most un-helpful if you are in a car. Chris' car got stuck on one of the humps, and he tried to push it off for about an hour before deciding he was well and truely stuck and should try and find our camp on foot. Using just the light of his phone, and the map I had photocopied him, he managed to find our camp! (I think maybe we were being a little loud) We got into Camerons car and raced off to try and save Chris' car before a 4WD plowed into it! We tried everything, but the wheels couldnt get any traction, the car was balancing on it's underbelly with the back 2 wheels off the ground! In the end we managed to free his car, with 4 people pushing it, but I think maybe the underside is a little scratched.
The next morning I took another look at the map, the track where the car got stuck wasnt marked as a 4WD track, meaning it was supposed to be ok for cars. I think maybe I should write to Parks Victoria and ask them to review their maps, or to review how high they make the drainage bumps.
So that was the highlight of the camping trip, not to mention that we enjoyed perfect weather and a wonderful campfire.

Mum held onto a package from Grandma And Grandpa Lamb, thinking it was christmas gifts, but it turned out to be birthday gifts for Peter and I, what a nice surprise! This is one of the shirts I got for my birthday. :)  

Here I am, sitting in a new camping chair that Grandma and Grandpa Lamb gave me. It's really comfy. 

Phil got heaps of tools for christmas from Mum and Dad, so he spent most of the morning putting them all away into his new tool box.

Last time I posted, I had no idea what my scores would be for this last semester. Now I do know... I got a distinction in maths, and credits in my three other classes.
Leading up to christmas, I have been working quite a bit. I worked all the public holidays after christmas too, so its been very busy. for christmas we went to Uncle Mark's house for dinner. It turned out to be a really aussie kind of day, with a bbq dinner and everything! It was great to see the whole family in one place. We spent alot of christmas day on the phone to family in America. Luckily enough, we got to speak with everyone over there.
New years eve was the next big event worth mentioning. I went down to the beach with some friends. Mario was kind enough to let everyone stay at his family's beach house, so nobody had to drive home straight away. We were on the foreshore at Rye, watching the fireworks at midnight, and I think that it was possibly the best start 2005 could have had!

Merry Chickens

Hi all, sorry I havent posted for ages! Ok, I had better fill you in on
whats been happening, since I finished my exams, I havent thought about uni
at all. It's been the best feeling.. hehe.. But the results do come out
tomorrow, so I better not jinx it.
I've been working alot lately, which is good, cause I have money. I have
also spent alot of time just catching up with friends. It's been cool, and
apparently we are doing new years down at Rosebud, or my other option is
Marysville State Park.. I still havent decided.
I dont know if I wrote earlier about going to germany, but apparently there
is a study tour running at the end of next year for the second year PDE
students, so I cant wait to find out more info. I better start saving tho.

I had my birthday, which was alot of fun. I am now officially 19. I had a
BBQ with a bunch of friends down at Jells Park, and it was cool just to hang
out for a while. Unfortunately, I dont have many photos to post up for that
one. As usual, we had a family dinner to celebrate my birthday on the actual
day, but because we were all so busy, we ended up having chinese. It was too
challenging to properly cook. hehe. As it turned out, we ordered way too
much food, and had left overs for a couple days!
The other major event that I feel I should write about is my confirmation. I
got confirmed into the Uniting Church, which I have been attending since I
was really little. Now it's official though, and before I got confirmed I
did a series of workshops. I may have written about them before. I have some
photos from the day, so I think I will post them up here.
Another church thing is the childrens advent workshops that we run every
year as a sort of outreach program. The aim of the program is to educate
children about the true meaning of christmas. Anywho, I've been helping out
with that, just supervising crafts and things like that.
Now that we are well and truely into the christmas season, we must spread
christmas cheer, and that means lots of happy shoppers at work... *rolls
eyes* It seems that people all need their christmas gifts early and they all
need the same things, we just cant get enough tamagotchi toys, or game
consoles. I was quite impressed when myself and Tim collectively sold four
XBOX ultimate packs in 10 mins! !!That's the power of a almost completely
commercially driven holiday these days!!
Anywho, I think I am just yabbering now. Catch ya laters, oh, and if i
forget... **MERRY CHICKENS** hehe

Exams... ARRGHH!!!

Long time no blog, ey? I have had a decent excuse though, exams... I've finished one exam, which went well I thought. I've two more exams to contend with, Maths and Electronic Systems. Both will be challenging, but Electronics has me more scared than maths.
Since last time I posted, I finished off a rendering folio for design, and quit my job at the post office. I'm just working at Kmart now, which is a lot closer to home, and a lot more enjoyable than the post office. Almost everyone at Kmart is my age, and they are really cool.
Today I went into uni to look over some past exams, which was kinda helpful. I have to study it more closely though. I need to stop playing sims 2! It's so addictive. I've made a couple custom sims, and so now I am trying to create the perfect neighborhood, filled with sims based on my friends. hehe. That's for after exams though... lol.
