On our way home

We have ended our stay in sunny Queensland. The last night we were at my Auntie and Uncle's house I saw a very large storm. The storm seemed to pass straight over the house, with lightning so close that even Dad didn't want to go outside. The power went out at about 9pm, so we went to bed earlier than planned. The next morning we started our journey south to Coff's Harbour.
The drive began with a couple stops through Surfer's Paradise, looking at a couple beaches. We had lunch on the beach with Uncle Ross and Auntie Lorraine. Then our journey continued south without any stops before we reached Coff's Harbour. Upon reaching Coff's Harbour, we met Ross (an old family friend) and his family. They own a holiday house in a small town outside Coff's Harbour. The house is just near the beach, and after all the work Ross has done to it, it looks beautiful. We stayed for the night. In the morning we went for a stroll along the beach, and discovered that the beach is full of "Blue Bottles" (they are a kind of jellyfish). Since swimming was out, we tried to go on a nearby go-karting track. There were so many people there that we didn't think it would be worth the wait.
After lunch, Dad, Phil and I went into the main CBD of Coff's Harbour. There is a place similar to sea world nearby to the jetty. We stopped there, and discovered it was alot smaller than sea world. That was good though, because there was alot more interaction with the animals. I got the chance to get kissed by a dolphin and a seal. The seal had fishy breath, but he was gentle. LOL. We watched a marine show, where the dolphins and the seals did tricks (called behaviours). In theory, each trick is something they would have done in the wild, but somehow I doubt that a seal would have to balance a ball on it's nose in the wild. It was really great entertainment, and I got to feed the animals. I took lots of photos, which I will be able to post up here once I get home.
At this stage, I think we will be home on the 13th.... Friday the 13th, how scary!
Lots of love, -Andrew
